Product Description
Norwegian herring in a large pack is raw material for preserve producers, catering and restaurants. Flash freezing preserves flavour until further processing.
How to Cook
- Home curing — 24–48 hours in the refrigerator
- Bake whole in foil
- Pan-fry (for smaller herring)
- As raw material for «Herring under a Fur Coat» or forshmak
- Marinate in spiced brine
Storage and Defrosting
Store in the freezer at -18 °C as specified on the packaging. Defrost slowly in the refrigerator over 8–12 hours — this preserves the flavour and structure of the flesh. Do not defrost in the microwave or in warm water. Once defrosted, consume within 24 hours; do not refreeze. The exact shelf life is shown on the packaging.
